I am a Professor in Department of Psychology, a Principal Investigator of the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and a Steering Committee member of Institute of Data Science at University of Hong Kong. I received my Ph.D. in Informatics from University of Edinburgh and was a postdoctoral researcher at University of California San Diego. I am an elected Fellow of the Cognitive Science Society and serves on the Governing Board of the Society. I am also Editor-in-Chief of British Journal of Psychology. |

I'm interested in perception and cognition in general. My current research topic is about multimodality integration in dynamic emotion perception and multimedia learning, and the role of eye movements in these processes. |

My current research focuses on using cognitive perspectives to examine AI behaviors and how human users understand AI, with implications for the development of explainable AI. I am also interested in psycholinguistics. |
